Key Performance Indicators Management

Key Performance Indicators Management

KPI Monitor

KPI Monitor is an add-on module to the odoo community edition

It allows users to import any table from their odoo database, join tables imported, create new datasets from existing data, create user views for new datasets, and setup KPI formulas to calculate Actual Amounts of indicators

From a technical point of view a big portion of the KPI Monitor is designed to allow users with no prior knowledge of SQL language to visually compose sql statements and run them on the same database used by their odoo instance.

KPIs

Key Performance Indicators are an important aspect of managing a business or NGO type of organization. KPIs can be calculated as a single realtime value (UpToDate value) or calculated over periods for comparison.

Datasets or reports can be configured in multiple ways to present up-to-date data from the database

Features

  1. Dataset Creation: Can Import any table or query in the odoo database you are working with. When importing Tables and fields from database, mark fields aggregation methods
    • Sum
    • Count
    • Average
    • Minimum
    • Maximum
  2. Join two or more tables and save result as new table
  3. work on any table or saved joined tables to summarize data or create a new dataset that needs monitoring or that can be used for visual analytics
  4. Create new Datasets from existing ones
  5. Choose the fields you want to appear in the report
  6. Group by certain fields
  7. use conditional statements, (If, Then, Else)
  8. Show data grouped and aggregated by periods
    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Monthly
    • Quarterly
    • Annually
  9. Filter Data
  10. Register dataset as a new table in odoo
  11. Create the table model and fields
  12. Populate the model with current data
  13. Create a cron job to automatically update the model data on a daily basis
  14. Option to manually update data in the newly created model
  15. Create User Graphical Interfaces to view the new datasets with up-to-date information
  16. Creates three different view to view the data in the new dataset
    • List
    • Graph
    • Pivot
  17. Create a menu item to easily reach the new dataset views
  18. Reverse Actions for new datasets
    • Delete GUI
    • Delete Model
    • Reset Dataset configuration

KPIs Setup

Use calculation steps to describe how the KPI will be calculated

  1. Describe the formula that calculates the KPI Actual Value
  2. Can be composed of many calculation steps
  3. In each step you can use aggregations of any field from any table in your database
  4. Use a constant Value inside the formula as a seperate step
  5. Describe the operator to be used in how each step caculated result will be added inside the formula
    • Plus
    • Minus
    • Divided by
    • Multiplied by
  6. Calculate the same KPI periodically. Calculates the KPI on a peridic basis
    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Monthly
    • Quarterly
    • Annually
  7. Note: Except for constant values you need for each step in the KPI formula to identify the date field to be used for calculating periodically
  8. Automatically adds the Periodic KPI report to KPI periodic dataset for analysis and visual depiction
    • List
    • Graph
    • Pivot
  9. Add Target value to the KPI for comparison and monitoring
  10. Printed Reports
  11. Create printed KPI reports with ease.
  12. Choose the KPIs to be included in the report
  13. If the KPI has a periodic calculation dataset, then it will also appear in the KPI report
  14. Choose the datasets that you want included in the reports
  15. Auto Uninstall
  16. Uninstalling the module deletes all created views and models and clears all entries from the database including cron, menus, actions, etc.
